Otter Cubs

Otter cubs can’t swim under water the first few weeks as they are too buoyant but they also can drown so the first few weeks in the water after leaving the safety of their home can be dangerous. They do like to squabble with their brothers and sisters and will fight each other for food. When the mother comes to the surface or on land with a fish they will squeak, call to the mother to feed them and are always trying to be fed first, and if a cub has a fish the others will try to rob it of its food especially if it is a big fat fish!
